About This Place

Nestled in the heart of Philadelphia at 31 S 18th St, Harper’s Garden offers a sophisticated yet inviting dining experience that masterfully blends classic American comfort food with refined culinary twists. Known for a thoughtfully curated menu and an ambiance that artfully balances elegance with warmth, Harper’s Garden is the perfect spot for everything from a lively brunch to an intimate dinner.

Their cuisine emphasizes hearty, flavorful dishes with an elevated touch. Start your day with a vibrant plate of Shakshuka or indulge in the silky richness of Eggs Benedict with Smoked Salmon—both bursting with fresh, smartly balanced flavors. Brunch lovers will appreciate the variety of options like the crispy, golden Fried Chicken and Biscuit or the delightfully fresh Roasted Kabocha Squash Toast, which offers an earthy sweetness that pairs beautifully with their house-made mimosa or a refreshing Blueberry Lemonade Mocktail.

Sandwich selections such as the creamy Caprese Burrata with basil pesto and marinated tomatoes or the robust Prosciutto & Arugula with its tangy salsa verde vinaigrette show a keen eye for balance and fresh ingredients. The Cheeseburger stands out with its caramelized onions and cherry pepper that add a subtle kick, making it a comforting yet exciting choice.

Pasta enthusiasts will find themselves spoiled for choice. From the luxurious mouthfeel of Penne Beef Bolognese accented by whipped ricotta and a crispy rosemary garnish to the briny, delicate notes of Linguini and Clams with lemon chive butter and pepperoncini, every bite is thoughtfully composed. The Potato Gnocchi with basil pesto, pine nuts, and pecorino delivers a comforting, pillowy texture that’s fresh and satisfying, perfect for those seeking gluten-free options.

For main courses, the kitchen shines with dishes like the Manhattan Strip Steak, accompanied by a peppery arugula and fennel salad drizzled with sweet saba and savory pecorino, or the boldly flavored Salmon ala Diavolo, featuring a piquant pickled pepper sauce that enlivens each tender bite. The Grilled Pork Cacciatore is a rustic yet refined choice, melding tomato, shiitake mushroom, and peppers to create deep, layered flavors.

The cocktails and drink menu here complement the food beautifully, with a well-rounded selection including classics like the Aperol Spritz and frozen daiquiris alongside an impressive range of craft beers and wines. Mocktail options such as the Blueberry Lemonade provide vibrant, refreshing alternatives that showcase the same dedication to quality and creativity.

Oh my goodness I don’t know where to start. My friend and I wanted to try somewhere new today for a quick bite to eat, we ran across HARPER’S. When we walked in the Celia was at the door with a great big welcoming smile, we were seated at the bar as it was pretty booked. The atmosphere was amazing nice seating, the decor was elegant and the lighting was perfect. Abby was our server, she was very informative with the menu and provided suggestions for us as this was our first time dining experience here. She also inquired about any food allergies we may have() When are food arrived we were all smiles…PRESENTATION IS EVERYTHING…the food looked as good as it tasted. The salad was fresh nicely dressed and the grilled shrimp was seasoned to Perfection. The dessert was delicious. It was a Great Experience and I will definitely recommend others and visit again with a reservation next time

This is a gorgeous brunch and dinner spot with awesome vibes. I'd recommend reservations whenever you can do them, because it's frequently a crowded and popular place. The food is great, and the drinks are pretty good - I wouldn't say exceptional by Philly standards, but Philly cocktail standards are pretty high. Overall it's a beautiful venue for a great meal!

Omg from the ambience to the services. I was in heaven and the food did not disappoint. They have the most freshest oysters in center city! And the bartenders love their craft! Also have great non alcoholic mock-tails , which I had . I’m an espresso martini girl that recently stopped drinking . Well that n/an espresso martini was amazing ! From our appetizers to our entrees , I was pleased! This is my top 5 favorite restaurant and I will be returning!

Dog/Pet Friendly, they accommodated my fur baby. Great food. Inside is very cozy so as the outside patio. Heated patio though was steaming hot, we asked to be move far from the heater vent but was told that they can’t move us to the other side of the patio. We hurried to eat our food because it’s really hot, we weren’t able to enjoy our time with relatives that we visited for brunch. Still positive because it’s dog friendly and food was delicious. Just hope they can rearrange the sitting situation away from the vent for future customers.

I really liked this brunch place. Would recommend mking reservation because it was packed. We came here for brunch. It is huge, lots of seating indoor, outside and enclosed patio and it has a nice atmosphere, really beautiful. We were seated at the enclosed patio. There was a minor incident involving birds and birds' poop that we noticed came from the ceiling, so we asked to be moved to indoors. Huge thank you to both Jada and Sidney that work there. They were super understanding, attentive, and found us quicky another table. Great service, the food was super tasty as well. I had the eggs benedict with crab cake and avocado, and a few cocktails.

Its a beautiful place, servers are polite and attentive. Food was ok. My crab cake and avocado eggs Benedict were very average. ● mimosa was very good, cappuccino very milky ● The crab cake was thinner than sausage and big lump of avocado just plonked on a muffin. Hash were the worst. Stale and hard. Eggs were below room temperature , fully cooked, rather than soft centered as they should've been ● Nashville chicken and grits were good, accompanying polish sausage were super. ● Omelet was ....omelet. nothing great. Served warm, not piping hot ● weirdly no breads were offered or served at all. 3 people bill was 90$ so pretty reasonable. Won't return though.

I went here for the very first time and it was very good. The food, service and atmosphere were good. I tired there mussels which I would get again. I also like that they have a heat enclosed section to sit at.
